HAPPY DAN THE MUSIC MAN– THE SHORT BIOGRAPHY:
In 1993, on his 40th birthday, Happy Dan decided to change his entire life. "I needed to get back to the basics: children, music and nature." And so he graciously left a good life, a good job (as an interior designer) and a great apartment in New York City and moved to Woodstock, NY.

At first he was a school music teacher for 3 to 13 year olds and then he met a clown who admired his teaching style and said he could be a great clown if he wanted to. At first he was dubious of clowns in general but after his first children’s birthday party, dressed up, made up, and accompanied and encouraged by his new clown friend, he had a personal epiphany. Clowns have been around since the beginning of civilization. Currently, our society doesn’t really understand clowns as anything more than, at best, merry makers. Happy Dan saw his future as a messenger of fun, joy and creativity. He studied clowning and circus skills with teachers, videos, at workshops, and on his own. He slowly developed a character that was appropriate for these times – gentle, fun, colorful, intelligent, quirky, playful and kind – a magic blend of teacher, clown, and play pal.

Over the years he has entertained infants, toddlers, school-age children, teens, adults, senior, and people with disabilities in a wide variety of settings – classes, workshops, parties, schools, libraries, parades, camps and theatres. In 2002 he traveled to Central America as a clown where he was greatly appreciated. He continues to share his unique gift of inspiration where ever he goes.
